Operating Systems

The definition of operating system is a program which controls the hardware, that makes the computer work.
There are 2 types of operating systems:

1. Graphical Uses Interface (G.U.I)
2. Command Line Interface

G.U.I
G.U.I is a grahical interface, which have: windows, icons, menus/mouse and pointer.

Advantages:
  • It is easy to work with.
  • Less training
  • No need to remember commands

Command Line Interface

A user interface in which you type commands instead of choosing them from a menu or selecting an icon

  • User need to understand commands
  • They have to remember these commands
